Seniors -> Telefile for seniors
Do you qualify for the
Service for Seniors Telefile to file your tax return?
Seniors do not have to prepare their tax return in order to use the Service
for Seniors Telefile. Using a touch-tone phone, clients need only
identify themselves and answer some yes/no questions. Income and
deduction amounts need not be entered.
Information is sent to seniors in all provinces and territories in
January of each year inviting them to use this service to file their tax
returns. To be invited to use the service for 2009 taxes, a senior must be over 65
years of age, with income only from OAS, CPP/QPP, or net federal supplements, and with taxable income
in the 2008 tax year of less than $11,000, or less than $16,000 if the client is entitled to the disability amount.
For more information, see Telefile
Service for Seniors on the CRA web site.
