Prince Edward Island 2022 and 2021 Personal Marginal
Income Tax Rates
The Prince Edward Island tax brackets and personal tax credit amounts are
not increased for inflation.
The Federal tax brackets
and personal tax credit amounts are increased for 2022 by an indexation factor of
1.024 (a 2.4% increase).
The indexation factors, tax brackets and tax rates have been confirmed to Canada Revenue Agency
information.
The PEI 2021
Budget increased the basic personal amount to $11,250 for 2022, and Bill 37
legislated an increase to the spouse/equivalent to spouse amount. Bill 37
also reduced the non-eligible dividend tax credit rate.
If Prince Edward Island used indexing, their tax brackets
and personal amounts would have been increased for 2022 by an indexation factor
of 1.033 (a 3.3% increase).

dividends received (not grossed-up taxable amount).
Marginal tax rate for capital gains is a % of total capital gains
(not taxable capital gains).
Gross-up rate for eligible dividends is 38%, and for non-eligible dividends is
15%.
