Basic Canadian Income Tax Calculator for 2024 and Earlier Years

You input the amount of income from

bullet capital gains
bullet Canadian eligible dividends, and
bullet Canadian non-eligible dividends

What will it show you?

bullet shows marginal tax rates for the year selected, for
bullet capital gains
bullet eligible Canadian dividends
bullet non-eligible Canadian dividends
bullet other income
bullet displays a table of taxes payable for the chosen year and previous 5 years, for all provinces and territories

What is included in the calculations?

bullet combined federal and provincial/territorial taxes for a single person
bullet surtaxes where applicable
bullet Federal tax abatement for Quebec (16.5% reduction of federal tax)
bullet deductions cannot be entered in this calculator
bullet tax credits calculated:
bullet basic personal amount including Federal and YT add'l personal amount
bullet dividend tax credits for both eligible and non-eligible Canadian dividends
bullet Nova Scotia additional personal amount
bullet no other tax credits are calculated
bullet does NOT include:
bullet alternative minimum tax
bullet CPP and EI premiums
bullet low income tax credits
bullet Ontario health premium
bulletBC MSP (which was eliminated for 2020)
bulletNL deficit reduction levy
