Manitoba Probate Fees

Source:  Law Fees and Probate Charge Act - See Schedule at end of Act

The Manitoba government announced in a December 23, 2019 news release that probate fees would be eliminated effective July 1, 2020, and that the preparation of wills would be exempt from provincial sales tax effective January 1, 2020.  The Manitoba 2020 Budget confirmed this.

However, this was apparently delayed, and probate fees were eliminated as of November 6, 2020.  See the Court of Queen's Bench Notice.

For a probate application made on or after July 1, 2005 and before November 6, 2020, where the value of the property subject to probate is

$10,000 or less $70
over $10,000      for first $10,000 $70
  for value over $10,000    $7 per $1,000 or portion(0.7%)

This information is current as of January 22, 2021.
